Galileo FC Over 40s Set to Make Their SoccerFest Debut!

Squamish, BC – January 20, 2025

SoccerFest is just around the corner, and Galileo FC is thrilled to announce a historic milestone for the club: entering a team in the Over 40 Division for the very first time! That’s right, the wise, the seasoned, and the “still totally capable of sprinting for more than 30 seconds” contingent of Galileo FC is ready to prove that age is just a number—especially when that number is followed by a roaring cheer from the sidelines.

This marks an exciting evolution for our club. Having long established ourselves as contenders in the Over 30 Division, we’ve now reached a point where experience and, let’s face it, a growing affinity for post-match ice baths have allowed us to field a second team.

A New Chapter for Galileo FC

The Over 40 squad combines skill, tenacity, and the occasional creaky knee, but we’re approaching this debut with confidence (and some extra stretching). These players are veterans of the game—former rising stars of the Over 30s division who’ve graduated to a team where halftime might include discussions of mortgages and favorite joint supplements.

Hopeful Expectations

As first-time participants in this division, we’re coming in with optimistic expectations. Will we win it all? Who knows. Will we have a blast, play our hearts out, and represent Galileo FC with pride? Absolutely.

Our strategy is simple:

    1.    Play as a team.

    2.    Stay hydrated (water or electrolytes—your choice).

    3.    And most importantly, never let anyone see you doubling over after a long run.

A Club United

SoccerFest 2025 will be a moment to celebrate the unity and growth of Galileo FC. Whether it’s the Over 30 squad continuing their tradition of competitive excellence or the Over 40s blazing a new trail, this tournament will show that Galileo FC is about more than just soccer. It’s about community, camaraderie, and maybe proving to our kids that we’ve still got it.

To our supporters: mark your calendars and join us in Squamish! We’ll need your cheers, your laughter, and maybe your help lifting a few players off the turf after particularly intense plays.

Here’s to a memorable SoccerFest 2025! Go Galileo!
